absolutely crazy, but loving it.

it has been sooo crazy ever since i got back from chicago. i have many pictures and stories to share with you, but i have been inundated with so much school work!!

every day this week, i have a full schedule from 9 to 9 or 10 PM! i already had a paper due today, another due on fri and another due next tues! i have so much reading to do and since we aren't simply regurgitating what we've read in lectures and discussion sections (as we would in undergrad), i need time to let all the materials sink in and bring in real life situations that complement or exemplify what i've read.

going from high school to college, i used to complain that i couldn't get involved in 12 clubs, but had to settle with 3-4. i learned that school work and activities required more of you in college than they did in high school. then i came to grad school and i am technically not in any organizations (although i have been attending few kick-off meetings to see which ones i want to get involved in), yet i am BOOKED!

absolutely crazy.

but the fact is i absolutely love it.

i mean, i love it. i was telling Andrew and my parents that for the first time, i enjoy school. i feel like i am finally being challenged to learn in a way that i desire to learn. i suspected that i would enjoy grad school more because it will be more focused, but i didn't know it would really be this way. i boldly share my ideas and thoughts in front of my professors and colleagues who have had absolutely amazing experiences before coming to school and i feel so fuzzy inside (haha) because i can regularly have these kinds of discussions with people around me.

anyways, i meant to write a nice "chicago" entry tonight, but that will have to wait until later this week or weekend.

two discoveries to end the entry with...

1) ross school of business's building is absolutely ridiculous. they have a boutique-style buffet that they simply and casually call the "cafe". everything is high-tech and spanking new. they even have their own wireless network. to top it off, it houses a FITNESS center. a fitness center that is much better than the university's. enough said.

2) we often wander off into our own world when we have our laptops in front of us--especially during lectures. facebook, myspace, xanga, epsn...you get the point. but i have not seen my colleagues do this in class. when they feel distracted, they go to the economist, nytimes, daily kos, washington post, and bbc website. i am not joking. either they don't get distracted or they distract themselves with current events. if i find anyone going onto facebook, i will definitely blog about it.
