during the duration of my internship, i will be interviewing taf program officers about their work, past and current, hoping to get to know them better.
today, i interviewed abi, women's empowerment program program officer who works closely with the philippines human trafficking effort. i had an amazing conversation with her and the issue of trafficking is more fresh on my mind.
i don't know if i shared this with you, but i have been on a long journey to figure out how God wants to use my skills and talents to help this group of people.
what model? in what setting? and how?
the more i hear, the more i become discouraged. what can i possibly do? where do i even begin?
but then, in the midst of confusion and dejection, i become encouraged because there are people out there, doing their little part.
i pray for strength and resilience.
Every time I see a clip about human trafficking it disturbs me and gives me chills like its the first time im hearing about it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a huge problem. As Helen Keller said, "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much." So it has been with every problem in human history, including the abolitionists of the past. Thousands of individuals, each dedicated to doing their part to make a difference, and they did. Remember, every person saved is an entire world that has been changed. I know that whatever you do you will most certainly make a real difference.
