work hard and play hard

aw, just got back from the 1st-2nd yr potluck and bar night. it was sooooo fun. aw, very fun.

i met some new people and hung out with some of the people that i have been spending more time with at the school. all in all, it has been a good night. :)

i realize that as the time goes on, people are becoming more individualistic in their studying and spare time outside of the classroom. however, there are also friendships that blossom from that environment. i haven't quite made up my mind about how i want to go about finding a "close" group of friends, but thus far, i'm liking where i am.

starting tomorrow, ford school will be hosting a lot of alumni and several events to celebrate our 95th anniversary. that means ford school dinner at night, tailgate party on sat, and so forth... i might even tag along to the michigan vs. indiana game. we shall see. i realize that this is the time for me to really "live it up."

anyways, other than the potluck and the partying at night, i took my first chinese vocab test, went to the graduate school merit fellows luncheon, attended my favorite class, and took a 20 min power nap to energize me for hw and the night's events. by the way, i found out that there are only 36 new merit fellows masters students in the entire u mich grad programs. i was kind of surprised by that. i thought there would be so much more. that made me realize i should be even more grateful for the provisions that i've been given.
