anyways, i can't talk too much about my life, but here are some highlights...
1) i got an internship with the UN in Thailand and have an interview for the Asia Foundation in the Philippines on Thursday. I should have my summer plan finalized by early next week.
2) a colleague and i submitted a panel proposal for the net impact national conference this coming oct and it got passed! the conference team is excited because they have never approached corporate responsibility from a human trafficking perspective.
3) a boy in my chinese class (the guy who was convinced that he knew me from some party at the beginning of the year) said something really funny today. we are learning "can even (do something)" structure (i.e. she is so rich, so she can even afford to buy an airplane).
so for a man who doesn't have any money and can't afford something, he said, "他沒有錢, 連鼻子都買不了." He totally meant to say "枝筆" (a pen) instead of "鼻子" (nose). i know the pronunciations are different, but it sounded so similar that he said nose!! how fitting for an asian society.
anyways, i thought it was so funny and i couldn't stop laughing in class. i tried telling my brother this story but he said he couldn't enjoy my story because i couldn't stop laughing during the entire story. :)
okay, i should get back to studying. ashley is catching on that i'm not looking at econ problems on the computer. ;)
thats a hilarious story! Your chinese must be good now :)
